天柱山位于安徽省潜山县境内，总面积413.14平方公里，因主峰如“擎天一柱”而得名。

天柱山又名皖山，安徽简称“皖”由此而来。公元前106年，汉武帝刘彻登礼天柱山，号曰“南岳”，道家尊其为“第十四洞天，五十七福地”。三祖禅寺被尊为佛教禅宗祖庭。这里是黄梅戏和七仙女的故乡，京剧的发源地，我国最早长篇叙事诗《孔雀东南飞》和“小乔初嫁了”两大爱情故事的发生地。李白、白居易、苏轼、王安石、黄庭坚等历代文人墨客在此流连忘返，存留的摩崖石刻近400幅，名冠全省。这里还走出了京剧鼻祖程长庚、通俗小说大师张恨水、杂技皇后夏菊花、黄梅戏艺术家韩再芬等名人。

Tianzhushan is located in Qianshan County, Anhui Province, with a total area of 413.14 square km. It is named after its main peak, Tianzhu Peak, which is like a pillar that can hold up the sky.

Tianzhushan is also called Wan Mountain, so Anhui Province is briefly referred to as Wan. Back in the Han Dynasty (106BC), Emperor Wu ascended Tianzhushan and conferred it as “Scared Southern Mountain. Taoists regard it as a blessed place. Sanzu Temple is worshiped as a shrine. Here is the hometown of Huangmei Opera and Seven Fairies and the birthplace of Peking Opera. The love story “Peacocks Flying Southward”, the first greatest long epic verse in Chinese history, took place here and so did the love story “two beauties of the Qiaos”. Here there are about 400 stone carved inscriptions of celebrity party in the past dynasties since the Tang Dynasty, of which the handwritten inscriptions of Libai, Bai juyi, Huang tingjian and Wang Anshi are particularly valuable. Tianzhushan Area is a propitious place for giving birth to a galaxy of talents, such as “Father of Peking Opera” Cheng Changgeng, Voluminous novelist Zhang Henshui, Queen Arobatics Xia Juhua and performing artist of Huangmei opera Han Zaifen
